Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for P.E.I. The warning was issued just before 5 a.m. Little had fallen by 8 a.m., but the forecast shows more possible for another hour beyond that. More coming overnightThe freezing rain could return this evening, according to CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland. With temperatures falling to -6 C late this evening a new round of precipitation is forecast to start as snow, but it could switch over to freezing rain as temperatures start to rise again. The freezing rain has the potential to continue into the early morning hours before switching to rain as temperatures climb over the freezing mark.
