The warning comes as forecasters issue a fresh warning on Monday morning, declaring a snow/ice warning for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. These warnings will replace the set of weather warnings in effect until 11am. Forecasters say they expect temperatures to fall to between -1 and -3 degrees generally, as well as sharp frost, icy stretches and black ice. They added; “In all events, and if in any doubt, schools should err on the side of caution. "We've seen road surface temperatures drop below freezing across the country with some roads down as low as -6C degrees," she told RTÉ Radio 1 this morning.
