You could say Yohann Diniz’s Olympic dreams went down the toilet. Diniz, an international men’s racewalking star, was forced to stop competing and regroup Friday thanks to a poorly timed bowel movement during the 50-kilometre walk event in Rio. A gold-medal favourite in the 50km event, a race in which he holds the world record, Diniz collapsed around the 15km mark of the marathon. He complained of stomach pain and, according to some media outlets, may have suffered from severe gastrointestinal issues. Amazingly crossing the finish line in eighth place, Diniz fell down after two hours and 22 minutes of walking.
