Vashisht graduated from J-school in 2025, and she is currently a student in the master of media in journalism and communication program at Western University. She has interned at Global News Toronto and later worked as an editorial assistant and race-caller during Ontario’s 2025 provincial election. She believes student journalism is a pillar in the overall industry as it spotlights the importance of local coverage. It feels absolutely surreal to be one of the recipients of this year's CBC News Summer Scholarship. I hope this opportunity tests all the knowledge I've acquired thus far and allows me to branch out of my comfort zone.
