Christmas is a time like no other. Steeped in personal and shared traditions, it’s usually marked by long-awaited reunions, cosy pints, late nights, short dark days and twinkling winter lights. But while we tuck into turkey, ham and Tayto, friends and family scattered across the globe are finding new ways to mark the season — often in countries where Christmas isn’t even a public holiday.
