Froome and Thomas left out of Tour teamFour-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome and 2018 winner Geraint Thomas have been omitted from the Ineos Grenadiers squad for the 2020 edition in a major team shake-up. Britons Froome, 35, and Thomas, 34, were below par in the Criterium du Dauphine, which serves as a form indicator for the tour starting on August 29 from Nice. Team manager Dave Brailsford brought in reigning Giro d'Italia champion Richard Carapaz of Ecuador to help Colombian Egan Bernal retain his title. Bernal withdrew from the Dauphine before the penultimate stage because of back pains but should be fit for the tour. Froome, back after a bad crash, will compete for a third Vuelta title in Spain from October 20-November 8 while Thomas rides the October 3-25 Giro d'Italia.
