Fuel prices rise as NPA sets new price floor

GOIL has also revised its prices, with petrol selling at GH¢10.24, diesel at GH¢12.53, and Super XP 95 at GH¢13.35. According to the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), this is the second fuel price increase recorded in 2026. Ghana’s fuel price floor is the minimum pump price set by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), which prevents Oil Marketing Companies from selling fuel below a fixed level. Commercial drivers may pass on the higher fuel costs to passengers through transport fare increases, while delivery and logistics expenses for businesses could also rise. For households, the fuel price hike could contribute to higher prices of goods and services, as transport costs often influence food prices and general market expenses.
