Like the rest of the world’s top heavyweights, David Haye found himself in limbo yesterday. He had hoped to be announcing the next stage of his comeback, but the decision of Tyson Fury to vacate his WBO and WBA titles opened up a world of possibilities. Fury gave up his belts late on Wednesday evening, before the governing bodies took them away. Things did not improve yesterday as the British Boxing Board of Control suspended his licence pending further investigation of his failed doping tests and medical issues. It could be a long time before he boxes again.
