Boateng was sacked from Ghana’s 2018 World Cup camp for what GFA officials called gross acts of insubordination towards then-coach Kwesi Appiah. Video evidence in undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ recently aired exposé showed widespread corruption in Ghana football where the GFA president, football administrators, match commissioners, referees and some officials of the NSA were caught taking bribes.
