The Publisher of one of Liberia’s widely browse online newspaper, GNN-Liberia (www.gnnliberia.com), Joel Cholo Brooks and the administration of Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) are expected to appear before His Honour Yussif Kaba, Circuit Judge at the Civil Law Court tomorrow, December 18, 2017 at the Temple of Justice to answer to ‘Action of damages for libel’ filed by a Nigerian businessman, Tony Lawal of the Praise Glory Lawal Construction Company. The hearing on Monday is expected to bring together lawyers representing the Defendants and the Plaintiff to explain to the presiding Judge as to what really took place that gave rise to the lawsuit. The MFDP report also indicated “We verified twenty three (23) bridges and eight (8) drainages; out of the 8 drainages, six are untouched. It was also established that all of the bridges are still in deplorable state, meaning that they were not improved by the Company (PGL) in accordance with the contract,” the MFDP verification noted. However, the management of GNN-Liberia says it stand by the report published on its platform.
