This week we look into the public closet of Liberia highlighting the profile of one of Liberia’s committed nationalists and the head of the Country’s Ministry National Defence, Brownie Jeffrey Samukai, Jr.; an Alma Mater of the University of Liberia. “Brownie” as he is popularly calls by many of his peers and relatives took over the mantle of the Ministry of National Defence on the 16th of January, 2006 as part of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s first cabinet member. In 1991, Minister Samukai was appointed as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of National Defence for Operations. He is an astute personality with over thirty years of combined working experiences as administrator, military strategist, national security expert, lead strategist on Security Sector Reform/ Defense Sector Reform in a post-conflict environment. This week GNN-Liberia is pleased to feature this important son of the soil of Liberia as its Profile of the week.
