At Harvard, she attended English classes and encountered her companion, Hans Canosa, who is a movie director. She is in the process of adapting Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow into a movie, focusing on how two friends from childhood join together as adults to build video games. Stephin Merritt, the lead singer, suggested that the record is about love songs, rather than love itself, providing an intriguing distinction. A new book titled Yellowface is due to be released soon by her.
