Gardaí are investigating the disappearance of a substantial sum of money from a school in Cork city. It is understood that the amount of money involved is a six-figure sum. The school involved is a primary school on the southside of the city. Gardaí have confirmed that a report has been made to them in relation to the disappearance of money from the school and an investigation is now in the early stages. When contacted for comment, the school involved would not issue a statement in relation to the investigation, saying it is a “sensitive matter”.
