On Monday, Gautam Gambhir suffered what looked like a serious shoulder injury after diving to complete a risky second run in the third over of India’s second innings. Gambhir lay stationary clutching his right shoulder, signalling to the physio. The 34-year-old has struggled with his right shoulder over the course of his career. Gambhir was called up as replacement for KL Rahul, who was ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury. Gambhir was called up for the second Test in Kolkata, but was on the bench as Shikhar Dhawan was given another chance.
