Gaza rocket strikes home in central Israel, 7 wounded

KFAR SABA, Israel — An early morning rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck a house in central Israel on Monday, wounding seven people and prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cut short a trip to Washington. The rocket attack destroyed a residential home in the community of Mishmeret, north of the city of Kfar Saba, wounding six members of the family. The Israeli military said it identified the rocket fired from the Gaza Strip. Monday’s attack came 10 days after rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel’s densely populated commercial capital of Tel Aviv. ——Associated Press writer Fares Akram in Gaza City, Gaza Strip, contributed to this report.
