The meeting provided an opportunity for the two Ministers to compare notes on the progress made by their respective countries in advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the reproductive health and wellbeing of women. They also acknowledged the prevailing gender challenges and the urgent need for intensified efforts to address them. The Minister presented copies of Ghana’s Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, 2024, and the National Gender Policy Framework to her Serbian counterpart as part of efforts to share Ghana’s legislative and policy progress in advancing gender equality. The two Ministers reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between Ghana and Serbia and expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and exchanging experiences in advancing gender equality, family welfare, and social protection policies. The bilateral meeting forms part of Ghana’s active participation in CSW70, where the Minister continues to engage international partners and stakeholders to advance the global agenda on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
