Sports News of Monday, 23 February 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comFormer Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, has called for measured expectations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that changes to the Black Stars’ technical team do not automatically guarantee improved results. His remarks come on the back of the GFA’s announcement of five new additions to the senior national team setup as part of preparations for the global showpiece. “Ghanaians should temper their expectations for the Black Stars at the World Cup,” he told Asempa FM. The Black Stars are expected to regroup in March for high-profile international friendlies against Austria and Germany as part of their preparations. Ghana, making its fifth appearance at the World Cup, have been drawn in a challenging group alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
