The footage shows now-former Minneapolis Police Department officer Tou Thao standing guard as three other offices pin Mr Floyd down in the street. In the new video, Mr Floyd appears to be unconscious after already having been pinned down for several minutes. As a paramedic tries to check on Mr Floyd, Chauvin finally gets off him and tries to drag him onto a transfer stretcher by one of his arms. A worker who called 911 claimed Mr Floyd was "awfully drunk" and "not in control of himself". Mr Floyd was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead about an hour later after paramedics and hospital staff tried to save his life.
