George Papadopoulos, who misled federal investigators about his meetings with Russia-connected Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud, spoke to Fox News to share his version of events. “I didn’t plead guilty to collusion, I’ve pled guilty to lying,” Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign adviser, told Sean Hannity Tuesday night. They met randomly in Italy, and Papadopoulos said Mifsud told him he was connected to governments in Europe, including Russia. Papadopoulos told Hannity it felt like a bomb was dropped on him. Papadopoulos told Hannity that he alerted the FBI to his conversations with Downer because of his suspicions.
