ROME, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - “The internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity,” read 18-year-old Shriya Garg. “It had never occurred to me that students would be struggling with this problem.”She was 14 then. As a sophomore in high school, Garg was featured in Forbes magazine for her advocacy efforts. “This problem is called the digital divide because the formal definition is ‘a digital inequity or a digital gap between those who have internet resources and those who do not,’” Garg said. The study speaks on the inequities that exist in communities as mental health care moves to a digital platform.
