German Exports Rose Strongly in February


Exports rose 6.4% on month in adjusted terms. Imports increased 4.5% on month, Destatis said. In trade with Russia, exports were down 6.3% and imports fell 7.3% in February compared with January, Destatis' data showed. Germany's trade surplus--the balance of exports and imports of goods--stood at 11.5 billion euros ($12.7 billion) in calendar and seasonally adjusted terms in February. The figure was above expectations from economists polled by The Wall Street Journal, who had forecast the trade surplus at EUR10.5 billion.
