In that spirit, the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, Kafui Danku-Pitcher, a native of the Volta Region, engaged fellow Ewe speakers on social media on the use of their mother tongue. She posed a question, asking how the word “romantic” would be translated into Ewe and whether the language has an equivalent term. With a touch of humour, she also wondered whether men from the Volta Region might not be romantic, which could explain why the word is not commonly found in the Ewe language. Kafui Danku-Pitcher has worked as a filmmaker since 2008 and has served as an executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited since 2013.
