Business News of Friday, 5 April 2019Source: Miriam Osei - AgyemangGhana and Denmark renew Maritime cooperationH.E Tove Degnbol, Ambassador of Denmark to GhanaGhana and Denmark have today signed a memorandum of understanding to mark the continuation of the strategic Maritime cooperation which began in 2017. The second phase is expected to enhance e-navigation in Ghana, support implementation of international maritime regulations and train tug boat captains in advanced simulators in Denmark between 2019-2023. The Ambassador of Denmark to Ghana H.E Tove Degnbol says this achievement is a major milestone in the Ghana – Denmark maritime collaboration. On his part, the Director of the Ghana Maritime Authority Thomas Kofi Alonsi said one of the major benefits of the maritime cooperation was the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of understanding between Denmark and Ghana for a mutual recognition of seafarer certificates. He added that the Phase II of the strategic sector cooperation will continue to assist the Ghana Maritime Authority to implement the corrective action to adherence to the International Maritime Organization standard of practice.
