★★☆☆☆What might work in a club or pub can look underpowered and even downright amateurish on a West End stage. All credit to TuckShop, a production company that specialises in drag acts, for organising an ambitious festival. Yet, as with their camp murder mystery Death Drop — which had a run in this theatre at the end of last year — the joke very quickly wears thin. Perhaps I made a mistake in going in sober because the rest of the audience were clearly enjoying themselves. Then again, who knows, perhaps all those self-consciously wicked nights in the Weimar Republic that we keep reading about were really just as dull as this.
