The RCMP has confirmed a 13-year-old girl died in a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon that involved five children, one of whom was killed and another who was seriously injured. Two cars collided at the intersection of Mariner Way and Riverview Crescent at approximately 2:49 p.m. PT. RCMP said the impact caused one of the cars to spin onto a raised traffic island where the five children were standing. Police said two other girls, 17 and 10, were on the traffic island when the crash occurred, as well as another boy, aged 11. RCMP said a grey Dodge Charger was travelling southbound on Mariner Way intending to turn left onto Riverview Crescent when it collided with a black BMW travelling northbound on Mariner Way.
