Kenyans breathed a sigh of relief when President William Ruto extended an olive branch to his political rival Raila Odinga. But even before the talks could begin, both sides started throwing brickbats at each other putting into jeopardy hopes of any negotiations. While the opposition has every right to picket, the government should be working overtime to ensure that the truce holds and the talks proceed. If Kenya burns, neither Kenya Kwanza nor Azimio will benefit. Let us save the talks.
