“Sarbananda Sonowal is a weak chief minister. “Sonowal has provided a weak leadership and for that, I believe, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is most responsible. He (Sarma) is overlooking the aspirations and hopes of the people of Assam instead of fulfilling them,” the former chief minister added. Finally, Gogoi stated the protest against the Citizenship Bill shall be continued till it is withdrawn. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was introduced in India’s lower house in July, 2016 by the BJP government.
