Some cities even offer free bikes (take one and return it to a bike rack) or, have bikes for hire at modest prices. Here are a few cities around the world where I have biked or been transported by bike/cyclo/trishaw to discover their many tourist attractions. Cycle paths are marked on the road and footpaths and it’s not appreciated when pedestrians obstruct a cycleway even unintentionally. While trams are another excellent way to also discover this city, tramlines can play havoc on unsuspecting cyclists, so take caution. Now if that isn’t a great way to discover rural France, I don’t know what is.
