The Gombe State Police Command, on Thursday, announced the continuation of restrictions on motorcycle movements within the Gombe metropolis, maintaining the existing curfew from 7 pm to 6 am daily. The Command said the enforcement of the directive would resume on Friday, April 3, 2026, following a comprehensive review of the security situation in collaboration with other security agencies and key stakeholders. Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement, said the decision was reached after “intensive deliberations and careful assessment of prevailing security concerns.”He explained that the measure was aimed at curbing criminal activities often perpetrated using motorcycles. “These measures are aimed at preventing the use of motorcycles for criminal activities across the state,” Abdullahi stated. The police spokesperson appreciated the cooperation of residents and urged continued compliance with the directive in the interest of public safety.
