Government spokesman office moved to the presidency


The office of the government spokesperson has been moved from the Ministry of Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy to the office of the President. The change is in line with the latest executive review by President William Ruto under Executive Order Number 2 of 2023. In October, Ruto appointed former nominated MP Isaac Mwaura as the government spokesman. Mwaura took over from the former government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna, who currently works as Chief of Staff in Siaya County. "I see the key role of the office of the govt spokesman being the coordination of the messaging of government, towards greater transparency and accountability.
