According to sources, the public sector undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) won the bid for the installation of 1.40 lakh CCTV cameras on Wednesday. An official said that the contract would be signed soon and that the work would be completed within seven months, with the Public Works Department being the agency responsible. 2,000 camerasEach of Delhi’s 70 constituencies would get 2,000 CCTV cameras under the project. Though one of the AAP’s key election promises was the installation of a total of 15 lakh CCTV cameras, this project would be the first one of the Aam Aadmi Party government to cover all constituencies.
