THE Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will launch on Tuesday the Electronics Business Permits and Licensing System (e-BPLS) software as part of its initiative campaign for an electronic government that aims to provide citizens with easy access to information. The department said that with the new e-BPLS software, business owners and local government units (LGUs) could process their business permits and applications electronically. “This system implements a standard business process flow for online processing of business permits and therefore shortens the processing time and provides up-to-date information on the status of application to the business,” it said. DICT said the system’s main features included online application for new/renewal of business permits and retirement of businesses and business lines; computerized assessment of fees, taxes and charges; online printing of Tax Order of Payment; and online printing of business permit; endorsement module for the Office of the Building Official, and other LGU concerned offices. The launching of e-BPLS software will coincide with the first e-BPLS Summit 2017 to be held in Quezon City.
