Asking people not to panic, Mr. Vijayan expressed confidence that the fever outbreak could be brought under control. Three categoriesFever-affected areas would be classified into three categories – high risk, moderate risk, and low risk – and preventive measures launched accordingly. Doctors in government and private hospitals as well as house surgeons and PG students in medical colleges would be mobilised to handle fever cases. Local bodies have been directed to appoint adequate number of doctors and paramedical staff in public health centres and community health centres.
