Nigerian music star Burna Boy did not secure the Best Global Music Album award at the 2026 Grammy Awards, as the honour went to Brazilian music icons Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia. Burna Boy’s album No Sign of Weakness was beaten by the Brazilian duo’s critically acclaimed live project, Caetano e Bethânia Ao Vivo, which emerged winner in the highly competitive category of the 2026 Grammy Awards. That category was claimed by South African singer Tyla for her song Push 2 Start, which outperformed entries from Burna Boy, Davido and Ayra Starr. Despite the losses, Burna Boy’s multiple nominations once again highlighted his strong presence on the global music stage and his continued recognition among the world’s leading recording artistes.
