The Grand Western Greenway Association is endeavouring to create an unbroken link for pedestrians and cyclists between Taunton and Wellington, closely following the route of the former Grand Western Canal and providing a safe alternative to the often congested A38. He said: "Your greenway won't get built all at once and will need input from landowners, councils and volunteers, but it will happen." Like the Strawberry Line, the Grand Western Greenway will be a permissive path, with landowners providing long-term leases for the route to cross their land.
