"Both the victim and the arrested man had been earlier at a family gathering - understood to be a christening - in the location where the incidents happened," a source told the Herald. "A row broke out between them, and gardaí suspect Mr O'Reilly fired a number of shots at the house in the course of this dispute, but no one was injured from the shooting. It is understood that a number of children were present when shots were fired and the victim was run over. Mr O'Reilly was taken to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead in the early hours of yesterday. Neighbours said the man who was arrested had lived at the house for a few years with his wife and three children.
