Virtual conferences are here. “We think in-person events will come back, and expect speakers to continue travelling, but attendees will be more selective about international travel,” answers Jasenko Hadzic, CEO of virtual event software company Tame. When the physical event was cancelled last year, it created relatively little disruption, at least for the organisers. Even a virtual conference however will have an impact on the environment. Conference software has evolved rapidly during the pandemic but it’s how it’s used, rather than where, that will determine the winners.
