That’s more than half-a-million grey vehicles (509,194) over the year. Its figures represent a 22.6 per cent volume increase on the same data from 2022, suggesting that appetite for grey cars is still on the rise. The least popular of these was cream, with only 151 new cars in the UK being ordered in the colour in 2023. Grey, white, black and silver have between them represented the top-three colour mix for new cars annually in the UK all the way back to 2011. Instead, Scotland had the highest number of white cars registered in 2023.
