The Guardian is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Rice-Oxley as executive editor, reader revenues. Prior to that he was an international news editor at the Guardian. In December 2020, the Guardian announced that total digital recurring support - digital subscriptions and recurring contributions - stood at over 900,000, up from 632,000 in November 2019. Katharine Viner, editor-in-chief, Guardian News & Media, said:“Mark is a talented editor with a wealth of experience and I’m delighted to appoint him as executive editor, reader revenues. In the UK, GNM publishes the Guardian newspaper six days a week, first published in 1821, and the world’s oldest Sunday newspaper, The Observer.
