Gulf maintains plan to raise B10bn in debentures

Gulf maintains plan to raise B10bn in debenturesSET-listed Gulf Energy Development Plc (GULF), Thailand's top capacity power generation firm, still plans to issue debentures by mid-year worth 10 billion baht despite the bourse being sluggish from the Covid-19 outbreak. All of Gulf's projects are being developed on schedule and will have long-term purchase agreements with state-run utilities for gas-fired power plants, renewable power and infrastructure projects. "This year we have to raise funds from the debenture issuance of 10 billion baht and we will keep our schedule," said Ms Yupapin. Ms Yupapin said Gulf estimates its generation capacity from this year to 2027 will grow an average of 22.5% to 7,781MW, mostly from gas-fired power plants and 6% from renewable power. This year Gulf estimates total revenue growth of 10% to 36 billion baht, from 33 billion last year because of the new operation of a biomass plant.
