The High Court on Thursday granted bail to former Cox’s Bazar Member of Parliament Abdur Rahman Bodi in a case. The order was issued by a HC bench comprising Justice Md Atowar Rahman and Justice Bishwajit Debnath. Bodi, who was arrested on August 20, 2024 from the Panchlaish area of Chittagong, had been taken into custody by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in connection with an attempted murder case in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. As an Awami League candidate, Bodi was elected Member of the Parliament for Cox’s Bazar-4 (Ukhiya-Teknaf) constituency in both the 9th and 10th national parliamentary elections. The complaint was lodged by Mohammad Abdullah, treasurer of the Cox’s Bazar district unit of the BNP, and included around 70 unidentified individuals as co-accused.
