Azerbaijan will be added to the list of Group A specified places from Friday (Jan 14) at midnight to tighten the boarding and quarantine requirements for relevant inbound travelers. Due to the detection of Omicron cases in the country, non-Hong Kong residents who have stayed there within 21 days will not be allowed to enter Hong Kong. Hong Kong residents can only board a flight for Hong Kong if they have been fully vaccinated and hold a recognized vaccination record. Those who return from those areas must undergo compulsory quarantine at Penny's Bay on the first four days upon arrival in Hong Kong before finishing the remaining 17 days of mandatory quarantine at hotels. The 15 countries are as follows: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
