0Two members of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) who were accused of killing a motorcylist last month asked the Department of Justice on Tuesday to give them more time to respond to the murder charges filed against them. However, Assistant State Prosecutor George Yarte Jr. gave them 10 days or until the next hearing on August 26 to submit their counter affidavits. Yesterday, the police officers met the family of de la Riarte. De la Riarte was arrested and handcuffed by the suspects after he accidentally bumped the car driven by Eric Fajardo in Makati City. HPG claimed that de la Riarte resisted arrest.
