The Canadiens’ opening-day roster came into focus Sunday when the team placed forwards Kenny Agostino and Michael Chaput on waivers. If they clear waivers by noon Monday, they will be assigned to the Canadiens’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket. He did not have to clear waivers. The final two forward spots will go to Jacob de la Rose and Nikita Scherbak. Centre Byron Froese, who was assigned to Laval last week, is also on a one-way deal and will collect $650,000.
