While cleaning up plastic from a Dartmouth beach, Ecology Action Centre staff discovered congealed oil that they say should be investigated. ( Ecology Action Centre / For StarMetro Halifax ) Staff and volunteers from the Ecology Action Centre and Greenpeace Canada cleaned up plastic from a Dartmouth beach Saturday as part of World Cleanup Day. The groups’ ultimate goal ( Ecology Action Centre / For StarMetro Halifax )“This is one of the dirtiest beaches I’ve ever encountered in the (Halifax Regional Municipality),” said EAC policy director Mark Butler. Despite the surprise discovery, the beach cleanup went on as planned.
