HALIFAX—Three options for a long-awaited redesign of the city’s busiest pedestrian thoroughfare will be unveiled at a public meeting on Monday. The municipal planning department is holding the drop-in meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Halifax Central Library to ask the public to choose one of three options for a new functional plan for Spring Garden Rd. The stoplet on Spring Garden Rd., seen here in July, was a trial for the kinds of changes Halifax wants to make to the popular pedestrian thoroughfare. Monday’s meeting is the latest stage in the process to redesign Spring Garden Rd., often called the busiest pedestrian street east of Montreal. There’ll be another round of consultation on the project this spring, Wilkinson said, looking at the more detailed elements of the project.
