Hamilton Academical have received a six-point deduction for failing to pay players' wages on time, their third points penalty this season. In December, the League One club were docked nine points for their failure to successfully acquire a bronze-level Scottish FA club licence by 31 March. The latest breach relates to not paying players on time, and in full, on 31 December 2025. The Scottish Professional Football League say the troubled club also admitted to defaulting on its tax obligations and remains in default of those obligations. Announcing the latest penalty, the SPFL say it "continues to work constructively with the new board".
