Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Hamilton due to an expected significant amount of rainfall beginning Monday evening. "However, this rainfall along with snowmelt due to very mild temperatures may result in ponding of water in poorly drained areas," said Environment Canada. The weather statement comes along with a flood warning that was issued Monday morning from the Hamilton Conservation Authority and a fog advisory for Tuesday morning. Environment Canada says "If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop." Environment Canada says this wet, record mild spell is attributed to a series of low-pressure systems moving along a warm front draped across the lower Great Lakes.
