Pence claimed to not know how Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett would rule on abortion legislation if confirmed, despite her lengthy record advocating for limits to abortion rights. Neither candidate elaborated on how they believe their home states of California and Indiana should address abortion rights. America’s racial reckoning also reared its head at the vice presidential debate.
