A severe thunderstorm watch has ended in Toronto after heavy rains doused the city early Monday morning and booming thunder probably woke you up. Environment Canada issues severe thunderstorm watches when weather conditions could produce large hail, damaging winds or torrential rainfall. A thunderstorm descended on Toronto just after 5 a.m., but cleared off in just over an hour. As of 6:30 a.m. it was 23 C in Toronto, feeling more like 31. Good morning!
